Frequently Asked Questions

When is VILLAGEx?

VILLAGEx’s next cohort begins on January 12th, 2027. Each VILLAGEx class runs for four months. Programming and events are optimized for the Central time zone, though you do not necessarily need to live in New Orleans.

Where is VILLAGEx?

Founders participate in VILLAGEx from wherever they choose to work and build their companies. However, programming and events are designed for those who can commute to New Orleans.

For founders in New Orleans, VILLAGEx provides co-working space at The Shop in the CAC at no cost.

What happens during VILLAGEx?

VILLAGEx offers a structured path to mentorship, traction, fundraising and community for founders who intend to rapidly scale their companies.

While all founders may participate in our structured program and curriculum, much of the experience is personalized to the needs of your company — which is partly why we limit the number of participants. Many of the program’s elements are optional; founders choose to what extent their participation is relevant to their business.

  • Bi-weekly “Anti-Demo Day”

Powered by Corridor Ventures. Each founder focuses on a tangible problem and crowdsources feedback and solutions from a curated group of advisors — an efficient way to tap The Idea Village network throughout the program.

  • Feedback Summits

Day-long gatherings focused on market traction and/or product-market fit, supplemented with shorter sessions on topics founders identify as particularly relevant to them.

  • 1:1 Advising

Individualized sessions with VILLAGEx EIRs and advisors matched specifically to your company for the duration of the program — also available for one-off consultations on particular questions.

  • Community & Social Events (optional)

VILLAGEx alums often cite the relationships built with peer founders through these events as a highlight of their VILLAGEx experience.

  • Capstone: Demo Day

The VILLAGEx program culminates in Demo Day, where founders present to the regional startup and investor community.

What do VILLAGEx founders get from the program?

VILLAGEx offers a structured path to customer traction and successful fundraising in a supportive community of founders, operators and expert service providers.

VILLAGEx founders will find some of these elements especially valuable:

  • A $100,000 investment opportunity at market terms will be made available to any company who graduates from the VILLAGEx program and meets fund requirements within 18 months of graduation.
  • Exclusive credits and discounts from The Idea Village’s trusted partners, including for cloud computing, legal fees, marketing, and other services.
  • Permanent access to The Idea Village’s exclusive network of advisors, investors, customers, and alumni.

Co-working space is available in New Orleans during the program.
