Chief Operating Officer
Brenna moved to New Orleans immediately post-Katrina for college and fell in love with a city that desperately needed help fostering new economic development. She received her MBA in Entrepreneurship from Loyola where she caught the startup bug. When she isn’t costuming with her Kokomo Krewe, Brenna can be found planning her next traveling adventures (preferably to a hiking trail), or rereading Harry Potter for the 100th time. Fueled by coffee and her passion for startups and the founders that power them, she is inspired everyday to continue to build the entrepreneurial ecosystem and help bring New Orleans to the forefront of the startup stage.
Promotions and Programs Coordinator
Hailey, a native Californian, fell in love with New Orleans when she was 15 years old and made a promise to one day live here. She made good on that promise when she packed up her life and moved to the Big Easy in 2017 to begin a term with AmeriCorps. Hailey is passionate about facilitating opportunities for New Orleans startups as they strive to build their businesses. She loves to hear from entrepreneurs about their big ideas, and is always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. Hailey loves running, going for hikes, making dinner with her friends, and is always ready for wine and movie nights. Her favorite part of her job is seeing entrepreneurs get excited about their ideas and knowing that they have the ability to help make New Orleans an even brighter place to be.
Development and Strategic Planning Associate
Tamra originally came to New Orleans through the Venture for America fellowship, but has stayed for the beignets and excessively humid summers. She loves that The Idea Village awards her the opportunity to learn by doing while making a sustainable impact in the New Orleans community. Tamra believes the most rewarding part of the job is hearing how The Idea Village has positively impacted an entrepreneur and seeing the chain reaction as that entrepreneur has paid it forward to another through investing, mentorship or volunteering with The Idea Village. When Tamra is not working in Excel you can find her riding her bike through City Park, soliciting ski trips to her home in South Lake Tahoe, and listening to her favorite podcasts."
Business Development Coordinator
Kyle grew up in New Hampshire, and moved to New Orleans after college to complete an Americorps year of service. He fell in love with the Crescent City, and stayed to work in elementary education and several nonprofits throughout the area. He was connected to the Idea Village through his MBA at Loyola University, and helps the team with business and community development programming. Kyle is most interested in social-entrepreneurship, and leveraging public-private partnerships to solve deep-rooted problems and create stronger, healthier communities. When he is outside of The Shop, Kyle can be found kayak fishing in St. Bernard Parish, playing shortstop for the Pelicans in the Peoples’ Baseball League, or hanging with his adopted cat Oscar Alvin.
design and events coordinator
After falling in love with the magic of New Orleans after only a few visits , Mallory made the move from Brooklyn to the Big Easy in the winter of 2016. Originally hailing from the non-profit world as Design and Brand Manager for (RED), Mallory started her own graphic design company and began to network and build her clientele of PR and advertising agencies through her peers in the marketing world. With a passion for live music, Mallory has also pursued working within the music industry. She previously managed at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn, has worked with festivals such as Slingshot and Shaky Knees, and continues to be involved with The Wild Honey Pie, an organization that works to break down the barrier between fans and artists with intimate music experiences.
Inspired by a culture that always seems to be celebrating life, her portfolio now expands to the southern region with clients like The Idea Village / NOEW and Saint Claude Social Club. Considering herself an entrepreneur in many ways, she loves to watch the process of passionate businesses growing and realizing their full potential in this place we all love to call home. When she steps away from her computer you can find her attending every Foo Fighter concert possible, planning her next road trip, or consulting her friends on which color to dye her hair next.
