Special events & podcast intern
The Idea Village is recruiting interns to work with our in-house communications team to support efforts that build brand awareness, promote and generate leads for our entrepreneurial programs, support the organization’s thought leadership, and cultivate audiences for small and large events throughout the year.

Intern positions are part-time roles that report to the Marketing Manager and the Programs Manager, and is hybrid in New Orleans, LA.
The Idea Village is a non-profit organization with a mission to identify, support, and retain entrepreneurial talent in New Orleans and the surrounding region. For 24 years, The Idea Village has served over 16,000 entrepreneurs by providing support to select companies and startups that have the potential to drive meaningful economic development. As an organization, we work to harness the power of innovation and specialized networks in support of high-growth entrepreneurship in New Orleans and the surrounding region. Duties and Responsibilities
Event Support:
Assist with planning, packing, setup, and on-site logistics for special events, including registration, guest support, and run-of-show needs
Support event communications including invitations, registration lists, and follow-up
Contribute to creating a positive and seamless experience for attendees
Podcast Marketing & Communications:
Support the promotion of The Idea Village’s in-house podcast, including scheduling, social content, and related communications (note: this role does not include audio production responsibilities)
Draft copy for podcast announcements, newsletters, and social media
Organize and edit podcast-related visuals and assets for web and social platforms
General Support:
Participate in team meetings and assist with documentation, scribing, and coordination as needed
Provide administrative support for marketing and communications projects
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent attention to detail in editing and proofreading
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with professionalism and accountability
Comfortable working in both in-person and remote team settings
Familiarity with Canva, Slack, Google Suite, and Mailchimp preferred
Interest in event production, podcast promotion, or marketing/communications a plus

Expectations:
This is a credit eligible internship with the potential to grow with the organization
Commitment of 10–15 hours per week: in-office on Thursdays and one additional remote day each week.
Minimum 3-month commitment preferred; custom timeline available in coordination with supervisor
Must have access to a personal laptop; additional in-office technology may be provided as needed
