Organizational Description:
National trends and the need to rebuild thousands of homes in New Orleans have created strong growing demand for green building and smart energy products and services in our region.  However, scarcity of green products has proven a significant barrier for sustainable reconstruction. EcoPark is a start-up venture designed to attract green and sustainable building manufacturers, distributors and retailers to expand the availability of these products and services in New Orleans. It is the vision of EcoPark to co-locate green/sustainable manufacturing, distribution and retail businesses in an industrial park or zone in New Orleans.  The Chief Executive Officer will be the driver for this start-up and responsible for acquiring the initial facility to house the first 10-12 tenants as a proof of concept, then expanding the project to industrial park scale.

Job Responsibilities:
This is a dream opportunity for a real estate entrepreneur with a passion for green and sustainable building in an emerging southern market.  The incumbent will be expected to provide leadership to develop and sustain a start-up social venture at the forefront of the green and sustainable building industry in New Orleans while ensuring that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying and securing appropriate commercial property
• Securing financial investors
• Recruiting and retaining appropriate manufacturing, distribution and retail tenants
• Leading initial branding and marketing campaign for the organization
• Managing financial and operational management
• Developing human resources for expanding the operations
• Building relationships with current and potential clients, consultants, major project management firms and Green industry resources/partners in relevant markets to further the interests of the organization

Job Requirements:

• 7 years commercial real estate development experience
• Successful track record in comparable commercial real estate projects
• Desire to promote green and sustainable practices and products
• Public/private experience preferred
• MBA preferred
• National and regional real estate/green industry connections preferred
• Honest, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial
