Green Initiative Program Director

JOB OPPORTUNITY: The Idea Village is hiring a Green Initiative Program Director who will drive the growth of Green and sustainable businesses in New Orleans.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary responsibilities include:

  • Business Consultant
    • Provide direct technical assistance to green businesses including financial, operational, and marketing management
    • Connect green entrepreneurs to appropriate professional resources
    • Recruit green entrepreneurs to participate in IV Green Initiative programming
    • Establish and maintain green client case files
  • Champion of New Orleans’ Green Industry
    • Work to develop a stronger collaboration between green industry stakeholders (non-profits, businesses, and consumers)
    • Stay abreast of current initiatives and incentives for the Green Industry and act as a centralized resource for local green entrepreneurs
    • Advocate for green and sustainable businesses in New Orleans
    • Identify new opportunities to engage with and provide support to local green entrepreneurs
  • Grant Manager
    • Oversee progress and management of  green industrial park project
    • Supervise resource allocation, financial accountability, and back-end reporting for The Idea Village Green Initiative
    • Draft reports to funders and updates to The Idea Village Board and Executive Committees

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Idea Village Green Initiative Program Director must exhibit the following:

  • Strong leadership and networking skills
  • Desire to accelerate the green industry in New Orleans
  • Ability to work in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Self-starter who makes opportunities happen
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time efficiently

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • MBA or equivalent professional experience
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of New Orleans green industry preferred
  • Marketing and PR experience a plus
